Is there a balance between personal choice and the common good, and if so, what does it look like to you?

There is a balance between personal choice and the common good, but in order to do some common good, sometimes it might require to give up some personal choice. This would be something like obeying your parents. Obeying your parents is considered common good, but sometimes you have to give up part of your personal choice to do whatever you want in order to be good and obey your parents.
